Terms of use
By using Helix you agree to these terms. Helix has a free tier you can use indefinitely, with paid plans that unlock the full product.
Independence and trademarks
Helix is an independent revision tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, or accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) or any other examining body. “FRCA”, “Royal College of Anaesthetists” and “RCoA” are names and marks of the Royal College of Anaesthetists; we use them only to describe the exam Helix prepares you for. Our questions are original and are not reproduced from any real RCoA examination.
Eligibility
Helix is for qualified doctors and medical students preparing for postgraduate anaesthetic exams. You must be 18 or over to use it. One account per person.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself.
- You're responsible for everything done under your account.
- Don't impersonate someone else or sign up with a name that isn't yours.
How you can use Helix
For your own personal study, on devices you own or control. That's it. In particular, don't:
- Share your account, or share or republish our questions, explanations, walkthroughs, or AI-generated marking feedback — including by scraping or bulk-downloading content.
- Use Helix to build a competing product, train other models, or seed a question bank.
- Try to break the site, bypass rate limits, or use our AI endpoints for anything other than your own studying.
- Upload anything you don't have the right to share — in particular, no patient-identifiable information ever, in CVs, CRQ stems, or any other input.
AI features
Several Helix features (the tutor, CRQ marker, viva and interview coaches) use AI models from Google. Our question bank, explanations and walkthroughs are written and reviewed by clinicians; the AI features, by contrast, generate their responses live and are not individually reviewed, so they carry the greater risk of error. AI can be wrong, including in subtle clinical ways. Treat AI output as a starting point for your own thinking, not as a source of truth. Always verify against your college's curriculum, primary literature, or a senior colleague before relying on anything for an exam or for practice.
Content and intellectual property
The questions, explanations, walkthroughs, diagrams, and design of Helix are ours. Content you create on Helix (your CRQ answers, viva transcripts, free-text notes) belongs to you; you give us a licence to store and process it so we can show it back to you and run the AI features you use.
Payment, cancellation and refunds
Helix has a free tier you can use indefinitely. Paid plans unlock the full product across both exam stages; the price is shown at checkout. The 3-month and 6-month passes are one-off payments that unlock the full product for that period; the lifetime plans are one-off payments that never expire. Any subscription started earlier keeps renewing until you cancel it from your billing settings.
Helix is digital content you get access to straight away, so at checkout you ask for immediate access and give up the statutory 14-day cancellation period. In its place we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee. If Helix isn't for you, email us within 7 days of paying and we'll refund you in full, as long as you've only just started using it. We look at your usage on each request and decide in good faith, and we may decline a refund where the product has clearly been worked through.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, violates these terms, or causes us to incur unreasonable costs (for example, by scraping or by hammering AI endpoints). You can delete your account at any time by emailing hi@helixdoctors.com.
Disclaimer and liability
Helix is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or fit for any particular exam outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the previous 12 months — which, during the closed launch, is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited (for example, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we change anything material we'll update the date at the top and surface a notice in-app the next time you sign in.
